NORTH HAVEN, Conn. � �As part of its philanthropic program, ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union teamed up with
Credit Unions for Kids for
Miracle Jeans Day.� This initiative raised funds for local
Childrens Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital:
Connecticut Childrens Medical Center in Hartford. Connex employees who donated five or more dollars were permitted to wear jeans to work Wednesday, Sept. 9. Donations were also collected from its members at their branches.
Connex agreed to match every dollar donated up to $1,000. As a result of great efforts by members and employees, Connex gladly presented a check for $2,000 to Connecticut Childrens Medical Center on Friday, October 9.
"Everyone at Connecticut Childrens Medical Center is extremely grateful to our partner Connex Credit Union," said Marissa Troiano, development coordinator, Connecticut Childrens Medical Center. "They went above and beyond to raise funds for our hospital. The dollars raised allows our doctors, nurses and other caregivers to provide state-of-the-art care to our families and pursue groundbreaking research to improve the lives of all children."
Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters and business partners from across the nation. These groups engage in fundraising activities that benefit 170 hospitals in the Childrens Miracle Network by
funding cutting edge life-saving research and helping to develop new innovative technology. Each year these hospitals treat nearly 10 million patients. A donation as small as $5 could buy a blanket for a baby or a blood pressure cuff designed for a childs arms.
