Great Lakes Credit Union Supports Local Children's Hospital

GLCU_CMN5kBannockburn, IL Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) was honored to take part in the 5K Torch Relay for Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals on October 9, 2015, benefiting Ann & Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago. The hospital is GLCUs local Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) recipient. GLCU is a proud sponsor of CMNs Hospitals through Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids). The 5K event is not the only fundraising GLCU has partaken in for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago. On September 11th, GLCU employees volunteered for the 16th Annual 101.9 FM Eric & Kathy Radiothon and manned the phones as a corporate sponsor successfully helping to raise $1,316,404.55 in donations for more than 174,000 kids needing treatment at the hospital each year. Not only does GLCU participate in fundraising activities like the 5K and radiothon, but the credit union hosts its own charitable events. During the entire month of May 2015 GLCU raised funds with the support of its members for the benefit of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago. GLCU invited members to donate $1.00 throughout the entire month of May to this worthy cause. In addition GLCU is contributing $1.00 for every new member who opens an account during 2015. In 2014 with member help and support, GLCU raised $10,000 for the hospital, which received one hundred percent of every dollar donated. GLCU has nearly 70,000 members and more than $700 million in assets. The credit union is headquartered in Bannockburn, Illinois, and has 13 branches located in Antioch, Bolingbrook, Country Club Hills, Crystal Lake, Gurnee, Naperville, North Chicago, Oak Lawn, Round Lake Beach, Waukegan, Woodstock, Willow Springs, and Zion.
