California Coast Credit Union Supports Financial Literacy

CaptureSAN DIEGO, CA California Coast Credit Union has received first place honors in the recent Desjardins Adult Financial Education Awards for financial literacy. This state-level award is administered by the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues, which recognized California Coast for its commitment to financial education in the community, including no-cost seminars and personalized financial counseling services. As first place winners, California Coast qualifies to advance to the Credit Union National Associations national level competition. "We congratulate California Coast Credit Union on its award-winning efforts in providing quality financial education to the communities it serves," said Larry Palochik, Senior Vice President of Member Solutions at the California and Nevada Credit Union League. "California Coasts outstanding award entry strongly showcases the People Helping People philosophy." This year, the credit union has hosted over 40 complimentary workshops on topics such as credit 101, saving for college, home buying, and estate planning to various groups including members and community organizations. Additionally, California Coast sponsors financial tips that air on local TV and radio stations and has added personal finance content and tools to its website.
