CU-Foundation-RidgewaysCommunity Financial Credit Union (CFCU) of Broomfield, CO has announced, as part of its annual Member Bonus program, the Credit Union will again be distributing $300,000 to its members. In its fifth year, this program was designed to deposit dollars back into members accounts. This year, due to the challenging and difficult year for the community, CFCU is aligning with the Credit Unions mission of People Helping People and partnering with The Jessica Ridgeway Legacy Fund through the Broomfield Community Foundation, allowing Community Financial Credit Union patrons the opportunity to "pay it forward" and remember this special girl within the Colorado community. The Ridgeway Family initially opened this specific account during the search for Jessica due to the fact that the community wanted to make a donation for search efforts and as it continued to grow, the Ridgeways worked with CFCU to establish a fund that would allow the community to remember Jessica through youth initiatives including camps and scholarships for children in Jessicas community. The Ridgeways, members of Community Financial Credit Union for more than 20 years, implemented The Jessica Ridgeway Legacy Fund as a way to manage the outpouring of community support. Community Financial Credit Union members were then able to donate all or a portion of their 2012 Member Bonus to the Jessica Ridgeway Legacy Fund with the Broomfield Community Foundation. Grants made from this donor-advised fund will be reviewed and approved by the Ridgeway Family.
