St. Anne's Credit Union Supports Cancer Fundraising Walk

Jimmy Fund Walk - Finish LineFALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS - On Sunday, September 27th, four employees from St. Annes Credit Unions New Bedford branch took part in the 2015 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.� In the months leading up the Walk participants were asked to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and then on the day of the event attendees walked the Boston Marathon route in honor of all those who battle cancer.� Since the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk began in 1989 the event has contributed more than $100 million to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, all of which goes towards supporting Dana-Farbers mission to conquer all forms of cancer in children and adults.� The four St. Annes employees (Kelly Pavao, New Bedford Assistant Branch Manager, Elizabeth Teixeira, Head Teller, Diane Steliga, Senior Teller, and Chelsea Medeiros, Senior Teller) all from the New Bedford branch formed the team Sole Sisters and chose to walk the entire 26.2 mile route.� The Credit Union was happy to support their employees and the Jimmy Fund Walks wonderful cause by donating nearly $600.� At the time of the Walk, team Sole Sisters had been able to collect nearly $3,000 for Dana-Farber, and donations are still coming in.� The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk took between 8 hours and 30 to 45 minutes for the four Sole Sisters to finish, and St. Annes Credit Union is very proud of their hard work, dedication and generosity.
