GFA Federal Credit Union Supports Local Food Pantry

CaptureGardner, MA- GFA Federal Credit Union is proud to show support of the Rutland Food Pantry through their recent donation of $500. The Pantry receives donations of money, food and clothing from several individuals and organizations throughout the community, such as GFA Federal Credit Union. "We are more than happy to give support to such a hardworking and charitable program such as the Rutland Food Pantry," said GFA President/CEO Tina Sbrega, "We look forward to working with them in the future." The Rutland Food Pantry is a very successful program that has grown over the years and has given back to many individuals and families. From July 2014 to June 2015, they have served 1146 households, compared to the 1133 given the previous year. The Pantry gives not only food products, but also gently used clothes to people in need. It is manned by volunteers from the 1st Congregational Church and St. Patricks Church in Rutland, MA. The Food Pantry also partners with Worcester Country Food Bank for donations. "We are so grateful for GFAs generous donation," said Rutland Food Pantry volunteer Paula Stidsen, "The donation will be used to purchase supplies necessary to give support to those who need it. We are very pleased with our success and hope to continue to grow with the help of other members in the community." GFA Federal Credit Union was established in 1938 and now serves 29,000 members who live or work in Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
