AMOCO Federal Credit Union Supports United Way
September 24, 2015
Texas City, TEXAS Throughout the years, AMOCO Federal Credit Union has supported their Select Partner, United Way Galveston County Mainland (UWGCM), a non-profit organization assisting those in need in Galveston County.
UWGCM is a team made up of 31 agencies responsible for addressing and resolving health, education and income issues. UWGCM believes that no one should go hungry, have limited access to resources, live in an unsafe community, among other concerns. Their efforts greatly impact the Galveston County community.
As a credit union involved with the community, AMOCO admires the effect UWGCM has made in Galveston County, which is why they have supported the organization through various sponsorships, donations and employee contributions. AMOCOs motto "To Serve and Satisfy" goes beyond servicing their membership, and extends to their community.
In 2010, AMOCO started the Together We Can Do Good campaign to make a difference in the community. They accomplished this goal by giving $25 to local food pantries every time an auto loan was booked. Since 2010, the campaign has transitioned to what it is today, Create Change. Create Change is a campaign aimed at paying it forward to over 30 non-profit local organizations, one of which is UWGCM. AMOCO will match 1% of eligible loans booked at the credit union and donate it to a participating organization. AMOCOs combined efforts have raised over $16,576 for UWGCM since the start of 2015, and plans on doubling that amount by the end of this year.
AMOCO Federal Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative organization. AMOCOs mission is: To Serve and Satisfy Our Members, and has done just that for more than 77 years. AMOCO strives to provide the best products and services available to its members by offering low loan rates and little to no fees.
