September 23, 2015
FORT SMITH, Ark. United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is pleased to announce it has been named the Benchmark Winner in the Arkansas Business Best Places to Work competition. UFCU representatives accepted the award at a luncheon on September 16, 2015.
"We are proud to learn that our Arkansas team is the overall winner because employee satisfaction is a key part of the United culture," said President/CEO Gary Easterling. "We value our people. They are our greatest asset."
Arkansas Market Vice President Noel Sanger is especially pleased to take the top spot after coming in at number four last year. He is quick to credit his staff for their part in making UFCU a great place to work.
"They have very positive, energetic attitudes and it is reflected in the way they do business," Sanger says. "We added staff last year and 75 percent of the people we hired were referred by current staff. Our membership also grew last year by 16.8 percent. I think our employees deserve partial credit for that because they are such strong ambassadors."
Arkansas Business compiles the Best Places to Work list annually in partnership with Best Companies Group. Finalists are identified based on a two-part company assessment designed to gather data about each participating company. In part one, the employer completes a questionnaire, and in part two employees of the company complete a survey.
