Somerville, MA -�Naveo Credit Union collaborated with the Boys and Girls Club of Middlesex County (BGCMC) during the month of August to be a donation site for their Back to School Supply Drive. Naveo collected hundreds of much-needed school supplies, such as backpacks, notebooks, markers, etc. to help local low-income youth start the school year off on the right foot. Naveo was one of four collection sites for the drive, which expanded to include community partners for the first time this year.
Volunteers at BGCMC sorted the supplies and prepared individual backpacks filled with youth-specific supplies for distribution to the 100 youth on their first day at the Club. Any remaining supplies will be used to supplement the Club, which offers academic support via tutoring and reading help daily.
"Thanks to the generosity of the employees and members of Naveo Credit Union and all of our School Supply Drive partners, we are able to help our members start their school years even more prepared to learn, grow and succeed! With the majority of our young people coming from low-to-moderate income homes, the school supplies we are able to provide as a result of this d�rive relieve the pressure on our members' families, as well.
