CaptureHAWTHORNE, CA On September 9, SkyOne Federal Credit Union continued its annual tradition of participating in Miracle Jeans Day, a nationwide fundraising campaign benefiting the Childrens Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Weeks of fundraising efforts by SkyOne employees culminated on this day, raising $3,400 to help provide lifesaving healthcare to children throughout the United States. Since 2009, SkyOne has hosted the annual Miracle Jeans Day for its employees. The festivities include games, bake-sale, potluck, and an overarching theme, all in the spirit of encouraging donations to CMN. This year, SkyOne celebrated Miracle Jeans Day with a new twist: Rockin for Kids Fest. Employees enjoyed the "rock star treatment," where they dressed in rock star swag, battled each other in lip-syncing contests, and took home prizes from a VIP prize raffle. Each employee also sent their well wishes to the young patients by crafting their own, rock music-inspired greeting cards. "The Childrens Miracle Network is close to our heart," said Eileen Rivera, President and CEO at SkyOne, "and Miracle Jeans Day is a perfect opportunity for our employees to let their hair down while supporting this worthy cause." Ms. Rivera, who also serves as the Chair of the Credit Union for Kids Advisory Board for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, continued, "the rock star theme embodies our passion for helping the kids, but also represents our belief that each child is a rock star in their own right." Credit unions have supported the Childrens Miracle Network Hospital under the Credit Unions for Kids brand for years. In fact, the credit union industry is the third largest corporate donor supporting the Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals. Since the programs inception in 1996, credit unions nationwide have raised over $150 million from members and employees. "Its appropriate that SkyOne celebrated Miracle Jeans Day with a Rock theme given the staffs rock star status among the kids treated at our CMN Hospitals," remarked Joe Dearborn, Senior Director, Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals. "We are truly fortunate to have such caring a group working on behalf of the children and their families." To learn more about SkyOne or how you and your organization can participate in Miracle Jeans Day, visit www.SkyOne.org, or www.miraclejeansday.com
