1st Financial Federal Credit Union Supports Habitat for Humanity

Habitat PictureSt Louis, MO - 1st Financial Federal Credit Union served Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County in July as a part of its Helping People 1st Grant Program.� 1st Financial created the Helping People 1st Grant to assist non-profit organizations that are focused on housing, financial literacy, job training, or education efforts in the St. Louis area.� In July, the St. Charles Branch continued this support by working with Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County. To support Habitat for Humanity help fund low cost housing projects in the area, the St. Charles branch hosted multiple food days during July to promote Habitat while also collecting donations.� Additionally, on Wednesday July 29th, a group of 1st Financial employees volunteered to work on a Habitat for Humanity build located in Wentzville.� On Friday, August 7th, St. Charles Branch Manager Chuck Holmes presented a check totaling $818.66 to Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County. "We are thankful for the partnership we have established with 1st Financial Federal Credit Union," said Lauren Grotegeers, Resource Development Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County. "They are excellent and very hardworking volunteers on our construction sites and their donation will go to continue building simple, decent and affordable homes for our families in St. Charles County." Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County is a non-profit, independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.� Their employees are dedicated to building affordable housing for low income families.� Habitat accomplishes this by constructing energy-efficient homes with the help of a volunteer workforce and supplementing their materials budget through donations and profits from their Re-Store.
