Dakotaland Federal Credit Union Supports Volunteer Fire Fighters

  DakotalandfcucruisegroupHuron, SD - Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has found an exciting way to give back to the communities they serve and are having a great time doing it!� The Annual Cruise for a Cause Poker Run was created for participants to enjoy a scenic route through east central South Dakota, while making pit stops at the branch locations to draw cards in hopes of building a winning poker hand.� Over $500 in cash and prizes are awarded, while 100% of the proceeds raised are donated to the Volunteer Fire Departments in 8 of the Credit Unions branch communities. This years event took place on Saturday, July 11th.� Approximately 50 different makes and models of handlebars and hotrods joined in on the ride.� The first route started in Redfield and a second started in Brookings.� The routes then met in Mitchell where participants were served lunch at the Overtime Steakhouse & Sports Bar.� The group continued on to Huron where poker hands were drawn and awards were distributed.� Regardless of whether supporters were on the run or not, many chose to back their local Volunteer Fire Department and purchased 108 poker hand punch cards at a their local Dakotaland Branch. This year, The Cruise was led by a very unique pace car, as Iverson Motors of Mitchell and Huron donated the use of a new Dodge Hellcat.� All the funds raised on the run will be donated back to eight local volunteer Fire Departments.� According to fire officials, the majority of the monies will be used for equipment and training. Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has locations in Huron, Volga, Brookings, Madison, Redfield, DeSmet, Mitchell and Woonsocket.
