North Haven, CT - The spare change we collect adds up and can be used to help make a difference for local charitable organizations. Through its charitable and philanthropic program ConnexCares� - Connex Credit Union donated nearly $600 from the fees collected by Connexs coin-cashing machine at its Hamden branch to the
New Haven Land Trust (NHLT) on July 30, 2015. Connexs "Coins-for-Change" program charges a five percent fee to members, a seven percent fee to non-members and donates 100% of the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community.
"We deeply appreciate Connexs support," said Justin Elicker, executive director, New Haven Land Trust. "The support from Connex Credit Union will help us grow our community garden program and allow more New Haven residents to grow their own healthy and organic food."
The New Haven Land Trust was formed to preserve, protect and enhance the quality of life within New Haven while creating opportunities for neighborhood residents to experience their environment. The NHLT owns approximately 80 acres of land and two community gardens distributed amongst six locations. The volunteers and staff of NHLT also assist in managing 50 community gardens on land leased by the City of New Haven by providing technical assistance and supplies.

ConnexCares is to promote financial literacy, well-being and understanding to Connexs members and the greater communities it serves. Connex is thankful to all those who helped make a difference for New Haven Land Trust by donating their spare change with us!
