Lake Michigan Credit Union Launches One Pencil Project

downloadGRAND RAPIDS, MI Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce the launch its 2015 One Pencil Project. Designed to assist cash-strapped community schools, this initiative now enters its fifth year and extends through the end August, 2015, just in time for the start of the school year. All LMCU branches are designated collection sites for donated school supplies. LMCUs Assistant Vice President of Community Relations, Matt Cook, is ready to get the 2015 One Pencil Project started. "Teachers provide a key foundation in our childrens futures. The One Pencil Project is one small way to help and thank the teachers in our local communities. LMCU salutes our teachers for the great work they do, and we look forward to another successful campaign that will positively impact classrooms throughout Michigan." Teachers are encouraged to make their needs known to LMCU, and can request classroom supplies via the One Pencil Project, through the LMCU website, lmcu.org/onepencil. Cash donations are gratefully accepted, as well as any of the following supplies:
  • Crayons, regular and large size
  • Color marker pens
  • Highlighters
  • Glue sticks and glue bottles
  • Packaged lined notebook paper
  • Packaged color construction paper
  • Packaged pens
  • Packaged pencils
Donated school supplies can be dropped off at any LMCU branch location.
