1st Financial Federal Credit Union Supports Redevelopment Opportunities for Women

CaptureSt. Louis, MO - 1st Financial created the Helping People 1st Grant to support non-profit organizations who are focused on housing, financial literacy, job training, or education efforts in the St. Louis area.� In June, the Downtown Branch on Washington Avenue continued this support by working with Redevelopment Opportunities for Women. Redevelopment Opportunities for Women (ROW) is a St. Louis based non-profit that empowers low income women and their families to build economic security�and hope for the future.� Their employees are dedicated to creating a foundation where women are able to develop the necessary skills and abilities to begin to take control of their lives.� On July 1, 2015, ROW officially merged with the Family Resource Center in order to serve a larger portion of the St. Louis area. To support ROW and raise donations for their programs, the Downtown branch hosted a month long bake sale and held a barbecue grill raffle.� On Thursday, July 23rd, Downtown Branch Manager Karen Neel presented a check totaling $1079.20 to Redevelopment Opportunities for Women. "Redevelopment Opportunities for Women is grateful to 1st Financial Federal Credit Unions Helping People 1st Grant," said Angela Schultz, Program Director for Redevelopment Opportunities for Women.� "The check for $1079.20, raised by the credit unions members and staff will go a long way in helping us provide supportive, innovative services to women and their children in the St. Louis community.� Thank you very sincerely for your support."
