St. Louis, MO - 1st Financial created the
Helping People 1st Grant to support non-profit organizations who are focused on housing, financial literacy, job training, or education efforts in the St. Louis area.� In June, the Downtown Branch on Washington Avenue continued this support by working with Redevelopment Opportunities for Women.
Redevelopment Opportunities for Women (ROW) is a St. Louis based non-profit that empowers low income women and their families to build economic security�and hope for the future.� Their employees are dedicated to creating a foundation where women are able to develop the necessary skills and abilities to begin to take control of their lives.� On July 1, 2015, ROW officially merged with the Family Resource Center in order to serve a larger portion of the St. Louis area.
To support ROW and raise donations for their programs, the Downtown branch hosted a month long bake sale and held a barbecue grill raffle.�
On Thursday, July 23rd, Downtown Branch Manager Karen Neel presented a check totaling $1079.20 to Redevelopment Opportunities for Women.
