Redwood Credit Union Provides Over $7,700 to Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort
RCU Collected More Than $3,500 in Member and Community Donations, Then Matched Funds
Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently provided $7,787 to assist the American Red Cross with Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts. Members and employees contributed more than $3,500 to the fund over the past several weeks, making donations at all 18 RCU branches or via an option in their online banking. RCU matched the donations, bringing the total to $7,787.
"Our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, and many of our Members and staff wanted to help, so we set up a fund for American Red Cross and spread the word through press releases, our website, in our branches and through online banking," said Brett Martinez, RCUs President and CEO. "RCU matched the total dollars contributed by Members, employees and our local communities with a corporate contribution in hopes of providing additional relief to those who need it most."
Redwood Credit Union is committed to giving back to the communities they serve, and do so throughout the year in a variety of ways, including participation and donations to the Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino County Human Races, local volunteer centers, and United Way.
