Capital CU 30000MemberBismarck, ND - Capital Credit Union reached a new milestone: We are now 30,000 members strong! Peter Ororo, Bismarck, was the 30,000th member. Ororo said he chose Capital Credit Union based on living close to one of our branches and from recommendations of his coworkers. Ororo had been unhappy with his other financial institution and was interested in opening a checking account and transferring a loan. His transition to Capital Credit Union was assisted by Ryan Welder, Main Office branch manager, and Ines Rasidovic, Main Office financial services representative. This has been a great experience," Ororo said. "Everything was clearly explained and all my questions were answered. Its been wonderful." For being the 30,000th member, Ororo received a gift basket of Capital Credit Union logo items, including a sporty gym bag and CamelBak water bottle, and a $100 Capital Credit Union Visa gift card. Capital Credit Union CEO Deb Gallagher credited the talented, hardworking staff and board members for achieving the milestone, in addition to other factors. "Weve also been privileged with opportunities to add other credit union families to Capital Credit Unions family of membersincluding most recently, New Salem Credit Union, Noridian Credit Union in Fargo, and the Knife River Credit Union branches in Hazen and Beulah." Gallagher also said it is sustained member growth that keeps the credit union financially strong and competitive, enabling it to adhere to the credit union philosophy of being able to return profits to members in the form of lower fees and rates on loans and higher rates on deposits. In fact, Capital Credit Union has been able to offer some of the best loan and deposit rates in the market, in addition to offering the types of products and services that todays financial consumers expect beyond standard consumer loan and deposit products, including credit cards, mortgage loans, business loans, online and mobile banking, and investment and insurance services. Capital Credit Union, originally chartered in North Dakota in 1936, is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by each of its more than 30,000 members and overseen by a member-elected board of directors. Capital Credit Union returns profits to each member through fewer and lower fees, lower loan interest rates and higher savings interest rates. Savings, checking, loan, credit/debit card, and many other financial services and education, are offered by Capital Credit Union to member individuals, businesses and other organizations who are located within a 75-mile radius of Bismarck, Hazen or Fargo, or a 50-mile radius of Beulah or New Salem.
