CaptureMIRAMAR, Fla. Do you know someone who should be recognized for doing good things in the community? If so, Tropical Financial Credit Union would like to know who they are. This summer, the not-for-profit financial institution will honor one local hero in the tri-county area and present them with $2,500 in cash and make a $1,000 donation to their favorite charity. "Our credit union is made up of everyday, hard-working people whove pooled their money together to help each other financially and to help the community," said Rich Helber, CEO/President of Tropical Financial. "These are the same types of people who are doing selfless acts on a daily or weekly basis to make Southeast Florida a better place to work and live. And while we know there are many local heroes out there, we want to honor one who has gone above and beyond the call of duty." Tropical Financial is asking for the publics help in finding the League of Financial Goodness Local Hero. Anyone who has a person to nominate should log on to www.SubmitAHero.com and, in a few words, describe why their nominee should be selected. It could be a friend, family member or someone you know from the neighborhood. Submissions will be taken from Monday, July 20 through August 21. Afterwards, a panel of judges will consider all eligible nominees and select one winner. There will be three criteria for judging: the nominees impact on the community; number of people impacted by his or her actions; and the compelling nature of their story.
