Minuteman Federal Credit Union Supports Bulldog Rescue Group
July 14, 2015
Rapid City, SD - The staff of Minuteman FCU volunteered their evening for the opening night of Summer Nights in downtown Rapid City working in the beverage tent. With the tips they earned, they donated to the Bulldog Rescue Group. Kayla started this rescue 25 years ago to help bulldogs who need love and caring. Within the last 12 months they have rescued 15 dogs and currently have 3 in rescue.
Before a dog can be adopted, Kayla conducts phone interviews to make sure they understand how much care it takes to own a bull dog and educate the possible new owner.
Below are stats of a normal bulldog:
Normal weight - male - 65 pounds, female - 55 pounds
Average age span - 8 years
Average age span of a rescued bulldog in their care - 12 years
Average Annual Vet bill - $1500 per dog
Average monthly food bill per dog - $100
Most dogs of this type have skin issues, breathing problems and in some cases they have problems due to over breeding.
MFCU Staff was delighted to donate to such a worthy cause in the Black Hills. They had a great time meeting the dogs and spending some time with them.
