Altura Credit Union Awards $41,000 in Scholarships

Altura Scholarship Winner GargRiverside, Calif.� Altura Credit Union has awarded $41,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors graduating from Riverside County public and private high schools.� The $1,000 scholarships were awarded by the Altura Scholarship Foundation, the educational foundation for Riverside County-based Altura Credit Union, and three memorial scholarship funds. Of the 41 scholarships awarded in 2015, 28 are generalscholarships, including five for students in AVID programs. Another 10 scholarships will be awarded in August to students planning to attend the local university, the University of California, Riverside.� Three memorial scholarships also were awarded. Between 2005 and 2015, the Altura Scholarship Foundation has awarded $350,700 in scholarships. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic record, and an essay detailing their college goals, financial need and extracurricular activities.
