CaptureBig Bear, CA Early this morning the team at Arrowhead Credit Union headed up the smoke-filled hill to Big Bear to thank the San Bernardino County Sheriffs and bring refreshments to the front lines fighting the Lake Fire.
Cases of Rockstar energy drinks, Clif bars, nuts and beef jerky were delivered to surprised and grateful officers who have been working long hours to support the Big Bear community since the fire broke out. They said they would immediately take the snacks to the firefighters.
"I cant think of a better way to spend a morning. Im getting ready to welcome a little girl into this world and I want it to be one where we take action to thank our hometown heroes," said Dana Kent of Arrowhead Credit Union.
Arrowhead launched a Hometown Heroes accountthis monthto honor police, firefighters, military, paramedics and correctional officers. The biggest benefit of the account is access to a $1,000 loan that doesnt require credit qualification as long as they have direct deposit. Several of the sheriffs in the Big Bear station were already Arrowhead members and were excited to switch upgrade their account to the Hometown Hero program.
Arrowhead Credit Union was established in 1949. Headquartered in San Bernardino, CA, they are the largest credit union in the Inland Empire with 123,000 members.
