Wreaths Across America 15FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS - St. Annes Credit Union recently held a casual day for a cause to benefit Wreaths Across America, an organization close to the hearts of many St. Annes employees. Wreaths Across America began in 1992 when Worcester Wreaths donated thousands of wreaths during the holiday season to be laid at the graves of soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery. Today Wreaths Across America operates in over 900 locations nationwide, coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on the second Saturday of December at veterans cemeteries and memorials in all 50 states and many national veteran cemeteries on foreign soil. Wreaths Across Americas mission is to "Remember, Honor and Teach" about the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families, and to make sure that they are never forgotten. This important organization was brought to the Credit Unions attention by St. Annes Somerset Branch Manager Darlene Sampson, who has volunteered in the past to lay wreaths at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne and will be volunteering at Arlington National Cemetery this year. St. Annes employees were able to raise $225 for Wreaths Across America, which is enough for 15 wreaths to be donated.
