Somerville, MA -�Rui Domingos, Chief Executive Officer, proudly accepted the �lvaro Lima Outstanding Business Award on behalf of Naveo Credit Union from the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) at their annual Gala on Saturday, April 18. MAPS announced the award recipient in November after accepting nominations in months prior.
MAPS selected Domingos as the award recipient for being a leader in the community who continuously supports MAPS and makes a point to sustain the neighborhoods in which it serves by making a difference beyond banking. In addition, Domingos was commended for his leadership as Naveo embarked on a name change last year, a bold move for the 87-year old credit union.
The �lvaro Lima Outstanding Business Award honors businesses that, through their regular activities or by supporting others initiatives, have made the lives of the Portuguese-speaking communities easier. �Naveo and MAPS share a longtime partnership with past collaborations including English classes, domestic violence prevention, drug abuse prevention and most recently, offering the Dreamer Loan, an affordable loan option for citizenship applicants.
