Hanscom AFB, Mass. As it has for many years, Hanscom FCU used this weekends annual meeting to celebrate more than just a year of saving and earning. As much as ever, the 2014 spotlight was on giving.
"We have an incredible staff of dedicated professionals who are committed our founding principal of People Helping People," said Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "Add to that the tens of thousands of member owners who serve their country and community every single day as a way of life, and you have an incredible recipe for making a difference."
This year Marotta was proud to announce:
- The sponsorship of Team Hanscom FCU in the Boston Marathon, including Board Member Ray Phillips, Sales Manager Mike Rzeszutek and long-time patient partner Andy Martin, Jr. Marotta presented a check for $45,000 to Childrens Hospital Boston
- The donation of 3,607 books for homeless children in the Massachusetts Credit Union Leagues statewide book drive
- Quarterly trips by volunteers and staff to prepare meals for veterans families at Fisher House Boston
- Expansion of support provided by the Hanscom FCU Foundation through major donations to the Home Base Program, Homes for Our Troops and Crossroads for Kids
