Hanscom Federal Credit Union Donates $45,000 to Children's Hospital

As much as ever, the 2014 spotlight was on giving. "We have an incredible staff of dedicated professionals who are committed our founding principal of People Helping People," said Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "Add to that the tens of thousands of member owners who serve their country and community every single day as a way of life, and you have an incredible recipe for making a difference." This year Marotta was proud to announce:
  • The sponsorship of Team Hanscom FCU in the Boston Marathon, including Board Member Ray Phillips, Sales Manager Mike Rzeszutek and long-time patient partner Andy Martin, Jr. Marotta presented a check for $45,000 to Childrens Hospital Boston
  • The donation of 3,607 books for homeless children in the Massachusetts Credit Union Leagues statewide book drive
  • Quarterly trips by volunteers and staff to prepare meals for veterans families at Fisher House Boston
  • Expansion of support provided by the Hanscom FCU Foundation through major donations to the Home Base Program, Homes for Our Troops and Crossroads for Kids
Hanscom also was proud to be chosen as the recipient of the Dora Maxwell Award for social responsibility and Louise Herring Award for philosophy in action by the Cooperative Credit Union Association, while Marotta was honored with the Eugene Ball Leadership Award from the National Association of Credit Union Chairmen for dedication to the movement and to the communities served. Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, serves 57,843 members across the country and overseas through 17 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch. The credit union holds over $1 billion in assets.
