CaptureFerndale, Michigan - April was National Credit Union Youth Month, and Credit Union ONE welcomedthe opportunity to educate the youth in the Ferndale community andall of their branch locationsabout the importance of saving money beginning at an early age. Recently, the credit unionpartnered with theFerndale Area District Library and hosted two youth events for local children. On April 13th, little ones were in awe as Credit Union ONE story tellers Andrea Pertile and Judi Desilets read books to them about what money is,what it is usedfor and how to save it. The children got to sing songs, make a piggy bank, and even took home a coin saver booklet to get them started. Ferndale Area District Library's own version of "The Price Is Right" was held at the libraryon April 15th. Children were invitedto Come on Down to show what they knew about money by playing pricing games andwinning prizes. Throughoutthe month of April, Youth Month Celebrations have been going on at all CreditUnion ONE branches, with giveaways forchildren, as well as educational materials forparents. "We were very happy to partner with the Ferndale Area District Library to bring these events to local children," said Neetu Singh,Credit Union ONE Vice President of Marketing. "The Youth Month activities that we were able to bring to our branches and the community were very rewarding. We were able to engage with many young people and share with them the value of saving money."
