Oahe Federal Credit Union Donates Over $2,500 to Local Schools
May 4, 2015
Pierre, SD - Oahe Federal Credit Union celebrated their 60th Anniversary Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, April 18th in Pierre. With well over 400 people in attendance, a highlight of the evening was the excellent and crowd engaging fun entertainment of Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos. (These world class entertainers have been favorites at past CUAD Summits and Legislative Socials, and many credit union people have enjoyed their performances!)
One crowd pleaser was the "Village People" lesson to the song "YMCA". Dave with Deuces Wild engaged some of Oahes volunteers, including the Vice President of Oahes Board, Doug Dix; President of the Board, Monte Kramer; along with City of Pierre Building Inspector, Kirby Welch; Ft Pierre Pharmacist, Shane Clarambeau; and Director of Oahes Board, Frenchy Taft all of whom were good sports!
According to Dawn Van Ash, Oahe FCUs CEO, many attendees approached her about having Deuces Wild back again next year! With all of the planning involved in this years celebration, Dawn says that is not likely. However, she added, "maybe in like 5 years for our 65th Anniversary!"
The credit union also pledged $5.00 from every ticket sold for the Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos show to be donated to the Pierre and Ft. Pierre Elementary Schools to go towards purchasing playground equipment at their newly built schools. The event raised a total of $2,515.00, which was divided between the schools.
