Hanscom Federal Credit Union Donates $1,500 to Civilian Welfare Fund

AFFN-Matching-Grant-Check-Presentation-04-09-15 webHanscom AFB, Mass. Hanscom FCU recently presented a $1,500 donation to the Natick Soldiers Systems Center Civilian Welfare Fund. The funds, provided by the Armed Forces Financial Network, match the Board Memorial Award presented to the group by the credit union last fall. This is the eleventh straight year the AFFNs Matching Grant Program has added value to Hanscom FCUs award, which recognizes volunteer groups that serve Hanscom FCUs membership base. The Civilian Welfare Fund organizes a variety of activities for both military and civilian personnel at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center, boosting morale through social events it is committed to holding on at least a monthly basis. "We are proud of our association with AFFN," said Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "They have been stalwart in their support of our work in providing our members with cost-effective and convenient access to their money. The Civilian Welfare Fund provides a vital service, and we are grateful to AFFN for allowing our gift to multiply." Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., serves 56,915 members across the country and overseas through 17 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch. The credit union holds over $1 billion in assets. AFFN was founded in 1985 at the request of the U.S. Army in support of the "Surepay" direct deposit system, to provide U.S. Military personnel (active, reserve, dependents, and retired) with access to their funds through ATM and POS terminals at or near U.S. Military bases worldwide. AFFN's mission is to increase the versatility of participating financial institutions to better serve the U.S. Military. �AFFN is co-owned by the Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA) and the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC).
