LOWELL On Friday, April 10
th, the Massachusetts School Bank Association (MSBA) held its 2015 Spring Conference at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. High school students from across the state came together to compete in one of three areas: Banking Bowl, Marketing Competition or Product Development. This years theme was "Money, Safety, Banking and You." Students demonstrated their financial literacy by preparing and participating in one of the three events.
Jeanne DArc Credit Unions Financial Education Team coached 30 students from Dracut High School and Lowell High School, from its Introduction to Financial Services classes and Marketing classes in preparation for this event. There were a total of 300 students from 23 schools competing. Local students fared well in their competitions, with Dracut High School placing 2
nd in the Marketing Competition.

"As part of the area high school curriculum, our dedicated team of Financial Education managers prepares young adults for the real world and teaches them the importance of making smart financial choices. In addition to Dracut High Schools 2
nd place win, Phyllis Njoroge, of Dracut High School, was awarded a $500.00 college scholarship. Ms. Njoroge responded to the following question, "Explain your most important lessons you have learned from your schools banking program and how you will utilize this knowledge in the future."
