The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America will be holding its 24
th Annual Moby Dick Scouting Golf Classic Monday, July 20.� The event will take place at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
For over two decades, the tournament has successfully raised over $391,000 for Scouting programs in southeastern New England. Proceeds from the competition will help to provide new and improved Scouting programs for the Narragansett Council.
This years title sponsor, St. Annes Credit Union, is a longtime supporter of Scouting, with its retired CEO, Jack Ledwidge, being the tournaments founder. Additional sponsors include Lloyd P. Albert of AAA Northeast, Manny Bagaco of Shaws Supermarkets, Joe Costa of Special Needs Planners of New England, Paul DeCoste of Avantus, and Bob Grillo of Woodcrafters Inc.

Proceeds in the past have been responsible for building numerous Scout programs in southeastern New England.� Each years proceeds are collected and then placed in the Narragansett Councils operating budget, to be spent where improvements are needed.
"Leadership, teamwork, and integrity are key skills taught through Scouting," added Mosby. "Because of successful events like this tournament, we have had the opportunity to improve past programs and look forward to continuing that cycle upwards," added Mosby.
