1st Financial Federal Credit Union Supports The Little Bit Foundation

Capture1st Financial Federal Credit Union Continued its Helping People 1st Grant program in February by partnering with The Little Bit Foundation to support disadvantaged children in the St. Louis area.
As part of the vision of "helping our members achieve their financial dreams", 1st Financial created the Helping People 1st Grant to support organizations who are working to help members of the community achieve personal or financial growth in the areas of housing, financial literacy, job training, or education.
The Little Bit Foundation (Little Bit) was founded in 2001 and has grown into an organization serving 5,000 elementary and middle school students in 17 St. Louis area schools. Ninety to 100 percent of the students in Little Bit schools are at or near the poverty level.
Little Bit is committed to helping disadvantaged school children by creating a positive impact for personal growth, increasing self-esteem and encouraging a more focused and active learning environment. Little Bit volunteers do this by building strong relationships and partnering closely with St. Louis schools.
The Downtown branch promoted Little Bits in February by holding multiple baked sales and basket raffles.� On February 19th, 1st Financial employees spent a day volunteering on site unpacking and folding clothing donations.� On March 6th, Downtown branch employees presented a check totaling $1750.25.
"This February, the great team from 1st Financial was able to unpack an entire skid of uniform shirts in record time," said Lucy England, Volunteer Manager for The Little Bit Foundation.� "They worked together to ensure that over 1,000 uniform shirts were taken out of their packaging and put on the pick lines for the volunteers to use when filling orders."
She continued, saying- "Because of their hard work, 500 children will have their uniform shirts ready to go for spring!� We really appreciate everything 1st Financial has done for us and we cannot wait to continue to�grow this relationship!"�
