United Federal Credit Union Supports Suitcases for Kids Project

United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized with an Affiliate Service Award from the Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORSInc. (SWMAR). The award is given to businesses that support SWMAR programs and projects. In 2014, UFCU supported both the Annual Golf Outing and the Suitcases for Kids project. Suitcases for Kids provides backpacks and personal items to foster children in Berrien, Van Buren and Cass Counties to take with them when they move to foster homes. Last year, a record amount of donations were raised for the cause. "The donations allow us to fill in the gaps for families who are struggling," said Michelle Kuiken, Berrien County Department of Human Services. "We are able to ensure that these kids have what other children take for granted like clean pajamas, new underwear, plenty of diapers and hygiene products."
