CfL NB High group 2015FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS, - New Bedford High School held their Credit for Life Fair on Thursday, March 12th, and St. Annes Credit Union was happy to once again participate as credit counselors. Credit for Life Fairs give Junior class students in local high schools the opportunity to learn the basics of budgeting and managing credit through a fun, interactive exercise. Students are assigned incomes and credit scores, dictated by their grades and attendance, and they then have to create a monthly budget. They create that budget by visiting booths at the fair that pertain to all the different aspects of adult life, such as housing, lending and credit, vehicles, groceries, and insurance to name a few. Once students have their budgets set they bring them to the St. Annes employees at the credit counselors table who will look over and discuss the students budgeting decisions and provide them with guidance regarding their choices. St. Annes employees were happy to be able to participate in New Bedford High Schools fair again this year and are looking forward to Durfee High Schools Credit for Life fair coming in April.
