United Federal Credit Union Holds Free Shred Day

United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is pleased to report that more than 400 people showed up at its Rogers Avenue Branch with more than 10,000 pounds of paper to destroy at the credit unions recent Shred Day March 11. 2015. "We were thrilled by the number of people who turned out," said Branch Manager Sarah Drummond. "Many people said they felt reassured by witnessing boxes of personal documents that had been stored for years shredded before their eyes in a matter of minutes." The event was scheduled to end at 6 p.m., but there were so many people still in line that it was extended until 7:30 p.m. "As a credit union, we are here for members and believe in people helping people. This event was a perfect example of that," said Market Vice President Noel Sanger. "I can't say thank you enough to our team at Rogers Ave for hosting this event." The documents were disposed of by Shred-it Inc. of Springdale, Arkansas. Shred-its representatives transferred the documents from the owners to a secure document destruction truck parked at the branch where the papers were immediately shredded into unrecognizable pieces. ____________ About UFCU United Federal Credit Union has served its Members since 1949 by helping them to build a sound financial future.
