MIDLAND, MICH., Staff members at Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union raised $395 for the Autism Society of Michigan through their most recent "Jeans Day" fundraiser. For each of the one-day fundraisers throughout the year, participating DCECU employees donate a minimum of $5, which entitles them to wear blue jeans, tennis shoes and logoed attire to work that day.
The
Autism Society of Michigan (ASM) works to assure full participation and self-determination in every aspect of life for each individual by opening avenues of self-advocacy and by advocating on behalf of others. ASM which promotes "making human connections" in a supportive, integrated community as a right of all persons is committed to empowering individuals with autism and their families by offering educational resources and materials, workshops, seminars, and other services.
"Our staff truly believes in building a strong and healthy community, and our fundraisers and volunteer events are the direct result of our employees caring hearts," said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson.
