CaptureCAMBRIDGE, Minn. On March 4, 2015, Kirstin Bruss, Peggy Durkot and Christine Scheiller, Minnco Credit Union Branch Vice Presidents, presented a "big check" for $1,100 to Family Pathways. On hand to accept the donation from Family Pathways was Susanna Dewey, Food Shelf Coordinator. Minnco employees enjoy not only serving members, but their communities as well. In addition to providing drop-off areas for food shelf donations in all Minnco locations, Minnco employees, past and present, compiled their favorite recipes into a cookbook that was available for purchase. Employees decided that all profits from the cookbook sales would be donated to local food shelves. Minnco started selling the cookbooks in the fall of 2010 and made their first donation of profits in 2011. Because of the success, Minnco ordered more cookbooks, which recently sold out. Minnco is also making donations to Family Pathways in North Branch and ACBC Food Shelf in Anoka, for a grand total of $2,400 in donations. Minnco chose to make the donations in March in order to double their efforts. Each year during the month of March, Family Pathways participates in a statewide food and fund drive to restock pantry shelves. For donors efforts, a portion of every dollar and pound of food raised is matched by Minnesota FoodShare.
