TUCSON, Ariz. Vantage West Credit Union (
www.vantagewest.org), Southern Arizonas largest credit union, is working to make a lasting impression on its community by joining forces with the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce for its First Impressions Project.
The goal of the First Impressions Project is to create an eclectic collection of visual symbols that represent lifestyle, culture, history and community in Southern Arizona in an effort to improve the gateway to Tucson International Airport.� As a part of the project, Vantage West, along with five other local partners, each contributed an art piece to the display that collectively tells a unique story about Tucson.
Vantage Wests submission to the project is a sculpture designed by Katharine Ramirez and Walt Silva, and created by Al Glann, a Tucson sculptor.�The Vantage West piece illustrates the credit union mantra of "People Helping People" in a beautifully designed piece of art, according to Robert D. Ramirez, president and CEO of Vantage West.
"The message is also reflective of what one might expect from their visit or relocation to Tucson, as the People Helping People message is also representative of the warm, friendly and helpful people of Tucson," Ramirez said.
The First Impressions collection is on display in a landscaped median along a section of Tucson Boulevard. It will serve as a greeting to arriving visitors and as a final farewell from the people of Southern Arizona as guests head to the terminal for their return flights.
