(Carson City, Nev.) Thanks to the generosity of many area residents, Greater Nevada Credit Union collected dozens of new childrens shoes for The Salvation Army last month during the credit unions winter Shoedrobe contest.
Community members were welcome to stop by any Greater Nevada Credit Union branch December 1 through 24, 2014 for a chance to win a winter shoe wardrobe (or "shoedrobe"). No purchase was necessary to play the game, though donating a new pair of childrens shoes for The Salvation Army automatically resulted in three entries.
During the holidays, Greater Nevada also helped The Salvation Army collect Christmas gifts for local children in need through the Angel Tree program, and Greater Nevada employee volunteers helped to distribute Christmas gifts and meals to local families.
