United Federal Credit Union Donates $1,000 to Cancer Foundation

united federalGRIFFITH, Ind. United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) donated $1,000 to Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation (NICK) to assist parents and families with children fighting cancer. NICK not only provides financial assistance but connects families with similar experiences for support during a difficult time. Special services offered by NICK include home cleaning through hospital stays, help with out-of-state travel, and private benefit coaching for family members or friends that may want to raise funds for the family. The donation check from UFCU was presented to NICK co-founder Donna Criner. "Our family started the�Foundation after our own journey with childhood cancer," said Criner. "We found that no support system for families existed in Northwest Indiana. With help from compassionate businesses like United Federal Credit Union, we are also able to raise money to change that." Griffith Branch Manager Sylvia Torbica called it a privilege to help local families.
