amocoTEXAS CITY, TX - On Monday, December 15, 2014, AMOCO Federal Credit Union hosted a holiday luncheon at their Friendswood Branch- 235 E. Parkwood Ave. for two assisted living residencies, Independence Village and Hope Village. Some say that with a little hope, belief and magic, Santa can make miracles happen. Well, with help from volunteers, Marios Catering, Ice Express, Faithful Friends, and of course Santa (AMOCO Board Director, Roger McCrary), AMOCO not only pulled off a miracle but made one unforgettable moment. Ice Express created a Winter Wonderland in front of AMOCOs branch by blowing in 1,000 pounds of snow. After several snowball fights, the Villagers enjoyed a lunch provided by Marios Catering. Santa and his helpers (AMOCO employees and volunteers) passed out gifts to each of the Villagers. Presents and snow werent the only surprises of the day. The most heartwarming surprise was a visit from the dogs of Faithful Friends. Faithful Friends is a group that uses their service pets to bring cheer and a furry friend to those who are in difficult situations. Many of the visitation sites include: hospitals, nursing homes, etc. AMOCOs annual holiday luncheon for Independence Village and Hope Village is by far the most exciting event of the year. It has brought new surprises and has created bigger smiles. AMOCO Federal Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative organization. AMOCOs mission is: To Serve and Satisfy Our Members, and has done just that for more than 77 years.
