LAWRENCEVILLE, GA Peach State Federal Credit Union has donated the toys that were dropped off at all of their branch locations to Toys for Tots.
Each of Peach State Federal Credit Unions twelve branches were registered drop off sites for the Toys for Tots Foundation. Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization with a mission to deliver toys and a message of hope to less fortunate children in the United States.
Employees and credit union members donated new, unwrapped toys in boxes and bagsenough to fill two pallets. The toys were dropped off at a local Publix grocery store to be distributed by the United Way to children in the community.
"Through our seven county footprint, we were able to collect a truck load full of toys that will help make the holiday season a little brighter for less fortunate children in the community," said Peach State President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell.� "We are dedicated to serving the people of our community throughout the year, especially during the holiday season."
About Toys for Tots
The principal Toys for Tots activity which takes place each year is the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located.� In communities without a Reserve Unit, the campaign can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign.� Local Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, which include golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots, and concurrently generate toys and monetary donations.
