Riverside, Calif.�- More than 550 children enjoyed "Story Time With Santa," sponsored and staffed by Altura Credit Union, as part of a five-day holiday celebration in Riverside, Calif.� The annual "Festival of Trees" is the primary fundraising event for Riverside County Regional Medical Centers pediatric units.
In its 25
th year, the festival features donated Christmas trees assembled by volunteers that are purchased by sponsors, with proceeds benefitting the medical center.� Each of the 54 trees boasts a theme. The event also features entertainment, a craft fair for the kids, a family event, a Polar Playland and other fun activities. Held Thanksgiving week each year, the festival attracts more than 30,000 people, and last year raised more than $450,000 for the medical center.
Altura employee volunteers filled goodie bags for hundreds of children who attended the free Story Time With Santa event. The kids also could participate in a coloring contest and craft activity, all overseen byAlturas elves.
Altura also donated a Christmas tree with the theme, Fiesta De Noche Buena or Christmas Eve Celebration, which was designed and decorated by Altura staffers.
