Peach State Federal Credit Union Donates Food to Emergency Assistance Ministry

Capture1DECATUR, GA � Peach State Federal Credit Union has donated food to the Decatur-Area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM). DEAM is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency help for local residents to prevent homelessness and hunger. Credit union members and employees have been able to help support four different food banks with their donations this year. "We are proud of the generosity of our members and staff, and this yearlong dedication to contributing to our communities," said Peach State President/CEO Marshall Boutwell. "We strive to support the community in any way we canthe community is our home and it is important that we do our part to maintain its strength and promote prosperity." DEAM serves more than 250 local families each month and is run almost entirely by volunteers in space donated by local churches. The organization estimates that they distribute an average of 7,000 pounds of food each month. "This donation will help us feed needy families and allow us to provide financial support to members of our community to help them heat their homes and pay for prescriptions," said DEAM Office Manager, Karen Johnson. "Many people are sacrificing food to purchase medication or pay for their housing needs, so donations like this can help us expand our ability to support local families."
