Citizens Community Credit Unionof Devils Lake, ND is making a difference in several North Dakota communities this holiday season. Darwin Brokke, President of Citizens Community Credit Union, says "As a community credit union, we are dedicated to helping everyone in the community. We understand that people go through hard times in different ways. We want to help ensure that our communities have food to eat and that they have a safe place to reach out to if there is need." With that in mind, the credit union is collecting non-perishable food items for food pantries serving Devils Lake, Lakota, Fort Totten, Bisbee, St John, Grand Forks, Northwood, and Larimore. In addition, the credit union plans to donate $1 for each item donated, up to $1,500. The monetary donation will be divided between the "Community Violence Intervention Center" in Grand Forks, the "Safe Alternative Abused Families" and the "Harmony House" of Devils Lake, and the Dakota Prairie Community Action program that serves the St John area. The credit union will continue to accept food items through December 31, 2012. Donations can be dropped off at any Citizens Community Credit Union branch.
