captureRapid City, SD - An altruistic energy has always coursed through Black Hills Federal Credit Union. But this fall, BHFCU employees amped up their annual efforts and raised more than $4,000 for five local charities. Fundraising at the credit union has invariably been creative and this season was no different. Through a credit union-wide auction, chili potluck, candy sale, brownie bake-off, and game of bingo, BHFCUs 250 employees pitched in and raised thousands. In total, they collected $1,100 for National Multiple Sclerosis Society to be used locally, more than $950 for Autism Society of the Black Hills, $875 for Black Hills Habitat for Humanity, $650 for Girls, Inc., and $600 for Pierre-area veterans! The fundraisers were carried out under the umbrella of BHFCUs Community Action Team (CAT), which is comprised of groups of employees who volunteer their time and energy to co-chair various fundraising endeavors. BHFCUs CAT embodies the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People." They are committed to improving the communities BHFCU serves and the lives of those who call the area home. Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-forprofit cooperative serving more than 59,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has Member Service Centers in Rapid City, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Spearfish and Wall, South Dakota.
