Credit Union Donates $1,000 to Support Affordable Housing
October 27, 2014
Belle Fourche, SD - Northern Hills FCU recently presented a donation of $1,000 to help support a partnership of Neighborworks Dakota Home Resources and Belle Fourche Economic Development.
Due to the oil activity in ND, Belle Fourche has seen an increase in economic activity. With this increase has come a housing shortage in the Belle Fourche area. Many workers have to live as far away as Rapid City and commute back and forth to work. In an effort to help with the housing shortage, Neighborworks has hired an individual to work out of the Belle Fourche City Hall to offer the many programs that they have to low and moderate income borrowers. NWA has made a three year commitment to have a staff person in Belle Fourche, and the donation from Northern Hills FCU will help fund that commitment.
