Credit Union Packs 1,000 Bags of Food for Children

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA Peach State Federal Credit Union staff gathered for training and a combined effort to provide a service to their community on Columbus Day.� More than 100 staff members packed 1,000 bags of food for children from local elementary schools who benefit from Nothing But the Truth based in Lawrenceville.� The effort will provide weekend meals and snacks for the 475 children that the organization serves.
"We are so thankful for our community partners like Peach State FCU that make giving back a priority. We were blown away by not only the donation of food from Peach State, but the 100+ volunteers who came out to make serving our community real and personal.� Thanks for making this happen,"� said Nothing But the Truths Founder and Executive Director, Scarlett Rigsby.� "These bags of food will be sent to 26 Title One schools in Gwinnett and Barrow counties where guidance counselors identify students who may not have anything to eat over the weekend.� These bags contain a modest amount of food, but for many children, it will be all they get to eat beyond the lunch provided by their school."

About Nothing But the Truth
Nothing But the Truth�provides "Weekend Food Bags" for children in local elementary schools that have been identified by their school counselors as being in need of additional food for the weekend. These children participate in the Free/Reduced Lunch Program during the week but struggle over the weekends. Bags are sent home with the children every Friday in their backpack and include easy-open/self-serve foods.
