December 17, 2012
The 2012 "Grafton Celebrates the Holidays"eventhighlight was theillustrious Santa visit at the Grafton Suburban Credit Union in Massachusetts.
This years celebration, which drew nearly 1,000 visitors, was the culmination of much work and dedication and was a labor of love for many GSCU employees.
The celebration transformed GSCUs reception area into a meet and greet with Santa.
"The effort to turn a bank building into a reception area for Santa takes hundreds of staff hours. On the day of the event, there is no let up to the energy and the flow of children. Our staff doesn't break for coffee or lunch. They work straight through. In the eight years I have been here, I have heard nothing from them but how wonderful Santas visit makes them feel," said Edward Lopes, GSCUs chief executive officer.
Children had free photos taken with Santa, could sign up to receive a personalized letter from him, and received free holiday crafts, all compliments of GSCU.
"We are deeply committed to the community, and also work in conjunction with the Grafton Food Bank to collect toys for local children in need," Benoit added.
The Grafton Suburban Credit Union has been a partner to numerous local and regional civic and non-profit organizations over the years, and designates special days for member appreciation and community-minded charitable giveback. Participation in the Grafton Celebrates the Holidays event is one which the financial institution does annually.
