dowMIDLAND, MICH., Recently, Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union employees took advantage of some of the seasons last sunny days and warm temperatures to clean up the boulevard in front of the credit union. Staff members in bright-yellow reflector vests cleaned up trash and other debris between East Lyon and East Patrick roads between Pine and Washington streets, including the area around the bicycle and pedestrian path that runs through the boulevard area. "Giving back is one of DCECUs core values," said President/CEO Dennis Hanson. "Our employees are committed to this principle and demonstrate it through everything from member service within the credit union to service projects out in the community." Not only did employees pitch in to clean up the boulevard this month, but they also volunteered their time to clean nearly three miles of shoulder area along eastbound and westbound US-10 between the Stark Road and Eastman Road exits. The team picked up 65 garbage bags full of trash during the cleanup. In addition to volunteer events such as the roadway cleanup projects, employees also engage in fundraising for various causes. In 2014, the employees have raised more than $2,000 for charitable and community organizations through monthly Jeans Day fundraisers.
