UW Shady Hollow 14Pottstown, PA - On Thursday, September 4, eleven Diamond employees volunteered at Shady Hollow Assisted Riding in Birdsboro, Pa. Shady Hollow is a non-profit organization which provides a supportive equine environment where individuals with physical, cognitive and/or emotional challenges can experience therapeutic, social, and educational rewards. The volunteers spent the day cleaning and polishing horse tack, such as saddles and bridles, washing saddle pads with a hand-powered ringer washer, and beautifying the grounds by raking leaves in preparation for the upcoming fall season. "Maintaining a facility such as Shady Hollow involves a lot of time and energy, so when Diamond was given the opportunity to help out, they "took the horse by the reins". Shady Hollow helps so many people and Diamond employees were excited to spend the day lending a hand. The United Way offers so many rewarding services and we are proud to Live United," stated John Faust, President/CEO of Diamond Credit Union. Diamond Credit Union is an avid supporter of the United Way. Recently, employees collected school supplies to donate to the United Way Stuff the Bus campaign. This year, 2014, is Diamonds thirteenth consecutive year of 100% employee participation in their United Way pledge campaign. Helping local organizations who provide so much to those in need...
