Credit Union Golf Tournament Raises $8,000 for Local Food Bank

imagesDelta, BCOn August 23 and 24, amateur golfers headed to Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen to participate in the annual Envision Financial Mens Beach Grove Amateur Championship. In addition to enjoying a high level of amateur play, golfers were also supporting the South Delta Food Bank and local families in need. "Supporting the South Delta Food Bank is perfectly aligned to our signature causeThe Full Cupboardwhich aims to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks," says Courtney Roth, branch manager at Envision Financials Tsawwassen location. "At Envision Financial we are committed to making a meaningful difference in our local community and supporting this event allows us to do just that." This year, the event raised $8,000all of which will be donated to the South Delta Food Bank. The South Delta Food Bank serves 80-90 families with children every week in addition to seniors and local Aboriginal people.�Completely volunteer run, the food bank relies on the generosity of the community to support its mission. "One of our main tournament goals is to give back to the community and being partnered with Envision Financial allows us that opportunity," says Brent Derrheim, Head Golf Professional Beach Grove Golf Club. "With the strong support of the Beach Grove membership and this years participants, the tournament will be able to support a worthy recipient such as the South Delta Food Bank. Since Envision Financial and Beach Grove Golf Club began partnering to host this event, proceeds from the tournament have always benefited local community organizations.� In fact, over $85,000 has been raised since 2007 and these funds have supported organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC and the Delta Hospice Society.
